Stain Prevention - Staining is possible on any pool. Your pool water balance determines whether a pool will start staining within the first couple of weeks or only after many years of use. Pool water balance constantly changes based on the type and amount of chemicals added, fill water conditions, swim use, temperature and weather. Regardless of the conditions you face, there is a stain prevention solution for you! Jack's Magic recommends that stain preventatives should be kept in the water all the time. Since a single dose is not enough for continuous stain and discoloration protection, stain preventatives should be added regularly. The Ionizer Stuff is used for pools using the Power Ionizer to help hold the metals in solution and will not be filtered out (as does other stain prevention products). The Ionizer Stuff puts a protective "bubble" around the metallic ions, allowing the ions to continue cleaning, but makes them much less likely to adhere to the finish of the pool, which could create a visible stain. The Ionizer Stuff needs only to be added monthly.
Stain Removal - The Step Stuff removes the unsightly yellow to brown stains on vinyl liner pool steps. The Step Stuff contains both a granular and a liquid product that you simply sprinkle over the step area after making some minor water balance adjustments (when necessary). For those really hard stains on the vertical step walls, you may need to place the granular in a sock/hose and use as a scrubber.
If you have unique staining, then testing is the most important thing you can do for your pool. Jack's Magic Test Kits are buffered to negate outdoor interferences. The Sequest Test Kit is used to test Jack's magic stain preventative products for you situation. Additional information about all of their products can be viewed at JacksMagic.com Jack's Magic Stain Solutions cannot be mailed UPS or USPS because they are considered hazardous materials. Since they can only be shipped via freight, it may be less expensive and quicker to order from your local pool chemical supply store.
Winter Stain Removal - One option during the winter months when your pool water is below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, is to use the Blue Stuff AFTER you turn off your Power Ionizer and replace with a depleted chamber. The Blue Stuff works slowly by grabbing and removing metallic contaminants (including copper) through the pool's filtration system. You cannot use the Blue Stuff if you have a heater on the pool that uses copper piping.
