Sanitize your swimming pool the easy environmentally friendly way with the Power Ionizer. The Power Ionizer is a safe and effective, self-contained electronic system that releases both copper and silver ions into your swimming pool water to help kill bacteria and viruses-keeping your pool clean and properly sanitized.

NASA uses the ionization process to treat drinking water aboard its spacecraft!

The unit is easy to use, adjustable, and comes ready to install, simply plug it into a 110V power source near your swimming pool equipment and it's ready to go. In-ground and above ground swimming pools with up to a 40,000 gallon capacity.
In addition to swimming pools, the Hercules Power Ionizer will likewise purify, sanitize and eliminate algae in hot tubs, spas, cooling towers, and even decorative fountains.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly does the Hercules Power Ionizer do? The Power Ionizer sends a precise quantity of copper and silver into your pool, which kills algae, bacteria, and viruses. The result is clear, healthy, more natural pool water.

How does silver and copper ionization decontaminate and purify my pool water? The copper ions main role is an algaecide destroying the algae in your pool. The silver ions are the most dominant and most effective. They break into the enzyme balance of bacteria, zinc, and virus, preventing the corrosion and staining of your swimming pool.

Is the Power Ionizer really safer than chemicals? Approximately all of the chemicals used to purify your swimming pool, spa, or hot tub are corrosive and usually toxic. Many of the swimming pool chemicals are believed to cause cancer, and are being observed to see if they are Carcinogenic. Silver and copper are both safe and can be used in drinking water as well as swimming pool water in quantities substantially greater than the requirement for purification.

What are the operational costs of ionization? In most cases, the electrodes may last three to five years and are relatively inexpensive to replace (current prices). The only other cost is the electrical consumption which is only a few dollars a year.

How often will I have to test the water? You will need to examine the ion level every 2-3 weeks and maintain proper water balance. The Power Ionizer is pH neutral so it will not change your water balance like chemicals do.

What about bromine? Bromine compounds in actuality consist of about 1/3 chlorine anyway. You can not stabilize bromine so it is used up in about 2 hours in an outdoor pool. Bromine is also more expensive than chlorine and still burns the eyes and irritates the skin.

Why does the red light come on? The red service light automatically comes on at 3 to 3.5 power level. For start-up, when trying to raise the ions in the pool with the power at maximum, the light comes on to help alert the pool owner that the power setting is still set high. The Power Ionizer should only have to be set on maximum for a few days; otherwise the ion level in the pool water becomes too high. As the chamber uses the copper/silver bars, it takes a higher power level to maintain the same rate of ions transferring to the pool water. The light coming on at this time is to remind the pool owner to order a replacement chamber.

What can I do to raise my Copper Level Quickly? You can use a Copper Algaecide to boost copper levels. Since copper levels could rapidly rise, it is best to lower the power level on your Power Ionizer.

What about stains? We recommend Jack's Magic

What is balanced pool water? The most important component of pool water is pH. If pH is above 7.6, the result is cloudy water. If pH is below 7.2, objects in the pool will corrode and swimmers may experience skin irritation. Alkalinity helps keep your pH level from fluctuating. Calcium hardness prevents corrosion and cloudy water.
